Nestled in the East Riding of Yorkshire, it was very fitting that the Oakland Lodge architect chose Yorkshire Tweed Resin Bound Surfacing for this project.
Yorkshire Tweed, an array of flint and quartz aggregate bound in a UV Stable Clear Resin manufactured just 10 miles away in the village of Beverley, home to the Vuba worldwide production facility.
Yorkshire Tweed is a traditional blend of Resin Bound Surfacing, quarried throughout the UK and processed using 100% biomass fuel.
The beauty is in the seamless simplicity of resin bound surfacing. The Vuba Resin Bound System was installed over 625m2, without need for an expansion joint due to the impressive flexural strength boosted by Vuba resin bound systems.
Vuba boasts the largest selection of aggregate colours in the UK. With exclusive Spanish Marbles and Traditional English Quartz and Flint blending together to create the Award Winning Wonders of the World colour selection.
The specification was for a UV stable system - and came with a 21 Year Warranty. The client liaised with Vuba and visited the Vuba showroom to view samples, before deciding on a colour. The contractor, Drystone Resin Surfacing Specialists, are an Approved Contractor of Vuba and carried out the installation of the surfacing.
Increasingly, resin bound surfacing is used to complement other more traditional paving surfaces, to provide a modern and maintenance free finish.
The Vuba Resin Bound system is SUD's compliant, capable of free draining when installed upon a permeable sub-base such as an Open Grade Macadam. This project specified a 60mm base of 14mm open grade macadam as the sub-base.
