Hydraguard - Damp Proof Membrane FAQ's
Liquid Damp Proof Membrane Hydraguard is a High Performance Primer. Roller applied, Hydraguard is a Liquid Damp Proof Membrane used to limit moisture release; improve the strength of substrates; seal pin holes and air pockets and provide an enhanced surface for bonding for subsequent coatings. Damp Proof Membrane: Hydraguard limits the release of moisture to 5mg per m2 per day. This is sufficient to allow the substrate to continue curing successfully, whilst not allowing excessive moisture release which will cause mould, blistering or blooming. This is perfect for coating floors and walls which contain high levels of moisture, and you would like a coating which will limit the release of moisture whilst not causing moisture related decay in the structure. Strengthening Primer: Hydraguard will penetrate into the substrate, strengthening the base whilst leaving a film coating on the surface. Resin coatings and screeds can then bond chemically to the Hydraguard layer and create a monolithic layer. Waterproofing: Hydragurad will seal and protect surfaces against moisture ingress. Hydraguard can be used as a base beneath permeable screeds such as Resin Bound, to prevent the ingress of water into the substrate. Usual on balconies for example. Seal Pin Holes: Hydraguard is often used as a primer for levelling screeds, or resin screeds. Hydraguard will seal the surface against pin holes and ensure the final topping is smooth and seamless. Hydraguard is perfect for use on the following projects: > Waterproofing the floor or wall of a basement > Application to a weak or porous substrate to improve strength > Application to unusual substrates such as plastic, tiles or paving > Application on to concrete seal against air bubbles > As a high performance primer for resin coatings and screeds Hydraguard is extremely versatile. Capable of bonding to almost any surface, seals in excess moisture and contamination, whilst providing a suitable surface for almost all coatings or screeds to be applied to.
